Welcome to my You Tube Channel! These are some performance pieces by couples and groups in Southern Oregon. I am a ballroom dance instructor and choreographer based in Ashland, Oregon. My mission in life is to build community through ballroom dance. Most classes and parties I offer focus on social dancing, but sometimes it's fun to perform and show off what we've been working on. We hope you enjoy the show!
Up and Dancing is my personal dance business. I also manage the Evergreen Ballroom in Central Point, and I'm the Executive Director of Open Floor Community Ballroom Association - a non-profit which hosts an annual Youth Ballroom Competition.

Lovely dance. Love the dress. What is that move at 2:07 called?
Thanks! I don't know that that move has a name. I call it a front to back slide. It's not too hard if the follow has a strong back. The trick is to both lean back like you're water skiing and avoid trying to pull oneself or one's partner through by bending the arms. Of course it's easier if your partner does not have furry wrists!
I have a dear friend who took up ballroom dancing as a hobby and is now doing competitions. She told me the next dance she and her partner were working on was the Vinesse Waltz. I never heard of it, so had to check it out. These two make it look so easy! WOW! My friend and fer dance partner, have their work cut out for them, but even if they don't win the competition, I pray they do their best and have a great time! 🕺🏾💃🏻
